China, Accused of Continued Human Rights Genocide AGAINST The Uighurs, Bans BBC World News From Broadcasting In Its Country

With report about Uighur women being tortured and sexually assaulted in Xinjiang, China has banned BBC World News from broadcasting in its country. BBC was disappointed — however, besides broadcaster Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) saying it was going to put a stoppage to BBC World Service programming in the area, British media regulator Ofcom also responded by revoking China Global Television Network’s (CGTN) license to broadcast in the UK.

The US state department called China’s ban “part of a wider campaign to suppress free media in China”. A BBC representative stated, “We condemn this decision by the Chinese authorities. Access to accurate and impartial news is a fundamental human right and should not be denied to the people of Hong Kong and mainland China, millions of whom rely on BBC News every week.”
